New Peer Learning Circles Scheduled for Fall

Peer learning is a proven professional development strategy that can result in higher achievement and greater productivity as well as increased psychological well-being, social competence, improved communication and even better self-esteem! Our Peer Learning Circles provide an opportunity for persons in similar employment positions to meet together, explore concerns and develop effective strategies in response to whatever issues need to be addressed at particular points in time. Each session is led by a skilled facilitator who manages the process and discussion. Groups are composed of no more than 7 individuals who each commit to meet together on a monthly basis.

We will be expanding the number and types of Peer Circles beyond Executive Directors to include Program Directors/Aspiring Executive Directors, and Board leaders. Please contact us at info@lelandleadership.com for more information and an application form.

A Witness to Mass Destruction

You may be like me and many others who feel completely helpless in the face of the tragedy going on in the Gulf. This isn’t a place for speeches on the environment, but in the midst of this massive destruction of people’s lives, local and regional economies, and an entire ecosystem, I feel compelled to do something – even if only to help increase people’s awareness of what is happening. A recent column published by The Huffington Post addresses these issues and is one worth sharing. It was written by Jim Wallis of Sojourners. Check it out:     Jim Wallis: A Time for Moral Reckoning
